Who's gonna save Saint Thomas' Anglican Church Stewart Town

STEWART TOWN
Stewart Town, 20/8/1815.

This Town is named after the Honorable #James #Stewart, the then Custos of #Trelawny. Stewart Town is the only other corporate Town besides Falmouth in the Parish. It was a great place for #Coffee when the price for this produce was sufficiently remunerative. The land is exceedingly fertile and the people are well to do and happy. It has a population of over 1200.

The Dornock river which rises about 2 miles from the Town was the locality selected some years ago to project the Cinema picture "A Daughter of the Gods." Within the Township are located the Episcopal Church of St. Thomas and the Webb Memorial Baptist Chapel, as well as a Methodist Chapel.

We should here give more than passing remark to the Founder of this Baptist Church, the Honorable and Reverend William Menzie Webb, a Jamaican of whose work and worth we are justly proud. This Minister of the Gospel had in him the true old Baptist spirit. Not alone did he attend to the salvation of the Souls of his flock, but to their general welfare. As a worthy testimony of his zeal and perseverance the Westwood High School for girls situate on a hill in the salubrious climate of Stewart Town is a prominent monument to the Rev. W. M. Webb.
When ever you're in the area stop by and take  a look. i really wish the Jamaican government would pay closer attention to these historic site and keep up with the maintenance of the property. Obviously this can be lucrative for the town to be considered a tourist destination for site seeing and historic tours. A town such as Stewart Town is perfect for a plan such as this.
