 From I knew myself, I have been singing. Introduced to
music by my father, a member of the group Stanley and The Turbines, my
musical journey began at an early age. During the earlier stages I performed
at numerous talent shows which helped to enhance my curiosity. However, after
seeing a Michael Jackson performance at age 12 I fell in love with music and
knew this was my calling. I recorded my first song at Sugar Minott's Youth
Man Promotions studio at the age of 14. I also recorded songs for Black Scorpio
Records. |
 Hailing from Seaview Gardens I was introduced to Bounty
Killer. He was so impressed with my talent that I became his opening act for
most of his shows from 1999 -2001. This was a great opportunity where I
learnt a lot about music first hand from Bounty Killer. During those years I
had the opportunity to record for Bounty and Junior Reid at his One Blood
Studio. |
 Focused and seasoned, I was poised and ready for my big
break. Unfortunately an encounter with two masked men would derail such
opportunity. That was the year 2003 when I became a victim of the harsh
realities of my community by simply being at the wrong place at the wrong
time. I survived and eventually accepted my circumstances. Although a wheel
chair became a permanent part of my life, that did not deter me from pursuing
my dream. Through sheer determination I set out to conquer one of the biggest
challenge(s) of my life. Through this journey I have been inspired, motivated
and totally driven by my passion for music. |
Currently working with Earth Source Records, I have recorded several
new songs that I am extremely proud of. All of my songs are written by me
from my experiences. My passion and love for music motives me to always do my
best. I am music and music is me. The Real V.I
